We had our first live hangout today with fellow ocean filmmakers in advance of the San Francisco International Ocean Film Festival, where we’ll be screening The Watershed! It was truly an honor to get to know some of these filmmakers—all in the different stages of their careers— and learn more about the myriad topics that will be showcased in San Francisco at the end of the month.
From Kristin Olnes’ profile of a professional shark tagger in the Bay Area to Gisela Kaufmann’s award-winning Shark Girl, about a 14 year-old Australian girl who dedicates her life to saving sharks, these films demonstrate how the ocean creates connections between us all. We’re thrilled that we can represent our corner of the Blue Planet at SFIOFF, learn more from other filmmakers, and come back to complete bigger and better projects on this crucial subject!
While it’s no longer live, you can watch the Google+ hangout in its entirety here!
