The Weir Wins SFF’s Doc-a-chusetts Pitch Contest!

We’re honored and humbled to share the news that judges at Salem Film Festival selected our documentary in progress, The Weir, as their top choice during a virtual pitch contest featuring docs made in Massachusetts. It’s a real shot in the arm as we hit the home stretch towards finishing the film— hopefully in time to submit to SFF next year! Completing this film now going to be so much easier with the prize of finishing services (color correction and sound mix) from Modulus Studios.

After three years of fitting this independent project into our busy work/life schedules, it was reward enough to share our film and get feedback from people in the industry. And especially during a time of pandemic-isolation, the opportunity to share the story of The Weir was a critical yet vulnerable step in the process of getting it made. The panel’s feedback has already helped our focus.
Deepest gratitude to the festival staff, jury, Modulus Studios, and especially SFF Director Jeff Schmidt for making the pitch session happen, even after the festival was postoned in March and pivoted to virtual in July. In these times, it’s especially important to connect and share, even if the screen is between us.
