For this video series, we teamed up with NYC-based theater company ArtLAB to create video portraits of three researchers at the Marine Biological Laboratory. Duygu Özpolat, Roger Hanlon and Jennifer Morgan share insights into their research, and how their field has evolved in the last century of biological discovery! We also scripted and filmed live actors, who impersonated 19th-century figures to really bring MBL history alive.

The videos were part of a larger exhibit, Through the Lens of Time, which paired MBL scientists past and present to show the progression of biological research over time. The show was up at the MBL Club for a week, before moving to the National Academy of Sciences and finally to the MBL’s Swope Building, where it will remain.
