We did as the plovers do in early December, and flew south on our annual migration to Miami Beach. For the last five years, with our friends at TrimTab Media and On Set Media, we’ve produced the Conversations videos for Art Basel during its Miami art fair, creating live-edit (and live-stream) video productions of talks with renowned artists, curators, gallerists, and cultural critics.

You may have only heard about the duct-tape banana, but there were plenty of other highlights, including some very interesting discussions on freedom of choice, on Black artist’s self-representation, and how art can help confront climate change denial, to name a few.
We also worked with Art Basel’s Cities program to produce an outdoor discussion with artists from Buenos Aires in Collins Park. Fueled by endless cups of espresso and early-morning runs on the beach, it was an immersive week of color, creativity, and conversation.
