One of the things we love best about documentaries− making them, watching them− is their ability to connect people around the world. And there’s no better place to connect than at festivals, whether they’re dedicated film festivals or gatherings of people who care about a cause.
It seems amazing that water quality issues and sustainable solutions would find resonance in Serbia, but at the 5th International Green Culture Fest, THE WATERSHED managed to accomplish just that. Not only were we honored to have our international premiere in Belgrade (a fabulous city), we picked up the second place award for Best Short Film. Hvala puno!
Unfortunately, we were unable to accept the generous award of a Lenovo laptop in person, but through friends, we found an even better option: donating it to a woman who is studying for her biochemistry degree while supporting herself as a baker. No strings attached, but we truly hope that making this connection (and possibly with the help of the laptop) will lead our new friend to make an impact on the watershed in her community!
