Thanks in large part to the Marine Mammal Protection Act and other wildlife laws, gray seals are rebounding in New England and the Mid-Atlantic.
Some view the gray seal recovery as a success story– and others see it as a problem. But scientists at NOAA’s Northeast Fisheries Science Center consider it an opportunity to understand the bigger picture of the marine ecosystem.
