We’ve done a fair amount of stories about tags (radio- or acoustic-signal devices that tell scientists where an animal is) but so far they’ve been attached to big creatures like turtles and sharks.

WHOI biologist Aran Mooney designed the I-tag to understand where soft-bodied invertebrates go, and how their behavior is effected by environmental conditions. This is a first, folks! But the applications to other animals (like jellyfish) are endless.
